Description

This figure shows the proportion of persons aged 65 years and over among the G8 countries in 2006. Japan has the highest proportion with 20.8%, followed by Italy at 19.7%. Then comes Germany at 19.3%, France at 16.2%, the United Kingdom at 16.0%, Canada and Russia at 13.7% and finally, the United States with 12.4%.
