This survey was conducted to provide the socio-economic living conditions of households in Canada. The information was used to provide major data components needed for the production of the weights used in the compilation of the Consumer Price Index. Note: The Survey of Family Expenditures (Famex) has been integrated into the Survey of Household Spending as of 1997.
