Canada's Changing Labour Force, 2006 Census (Analysis series) - 97-559-XWE2006001
December 9, 2008
Any comparison of Aboriginal data across census years must adjust for incompletely enumerated reserves and settlements and other changes in reserves, to allow for comparison of the same areas across the different census year periods. The errors relate to the adjustments used for the 2001 data that were included in this report.
The adjustment has two components:
The 2001 data included in two 2006 Census labour tables were adjusted for the incompletely enumerated reserves, but were not adjusted for the six additional communities.
As a result of this adjustment, there were minor changes to some of the percentages in the Aboriginal Peoples in the Workforce section of the 2006 Census analytical document Canada's Changing Labour Force, 2006 Census. After the adjustment, some of the percentages changed by 0.1%.
The data have now been correctly adjusted for the six communities in the Aboriginal Peoples in the Workforce of the HTML at http://www12.statcan.ca/english/census06/analysis/labour/ov-cclf-25.cfm and re-issued.
Pages 27 and 28 of the PDF version were also updated.
