Major characteristics

A thematic map shows the spatial distribution of one or more specific data themes for standard geographic areas. The map may be qualitative in nature (e.g., predominant farm types) or quantitative (e.g., percentage population change). New thematic maps are available with each census major release.

What's new?

Geography

Three standard thematic map series are available:

• National - by census division (CD).
• Regional - by census subdivision (CSD).
• Census Metropolitan Areas - by census tract (CT).

Internet access

Available for free to all users via the Internet:

• PDF format.
• Print-friendly format.
